![]() stupid as fuck that you're equating gold to knowledge of meta events, ive been in many HoT maps with tagged comms (both paid and mentors) who knew nothing/little about the metas, i have neither tag yet i have more knowledge of these maps than those who shelled out 300g/farmed CoF (or. Its locked behind a mastery so theyre likely going to have the same know how as someone who farmed gold. ![]() If you got it for free where's the guarantee that you even know what you're doing? Gold gated, or exp gated, both are a laughable measure of competence and prowess ![]() How is it pointless to show that you are proficient at the game by displaying your prowess with a gold gated symbol of your competence How about viewing this from another perspective the playerbase as at large got a neat thing for free-ish (that benefits everyone on a map if used appropriately) and theres a small portion of the community bitching about having paid for it wanting it removed for blatantly stupid reasons What is it with you guys and wanting everything for free? Which is 1200g in the four commander scenario i presented, basic multiplicationĪlso, no one had a problem with it before? Suddenly it's such an expense because you have a tag that easily handed to youĪctually it was often a limiting factor in organising PuG events pre-expansion (not that there were many aside from pushing drytop and triple trouble), HoT maps requiring even more grouping and organisation means im happy more people can 'tag up' Lol they didn't spend 1200g in the tag, they spent 300g each A free tag is counterproductive to that cause. There is a reason they are "status" symbols: because it's moderately tricky to obtain and symbolizes a few of your in general achievements. It's looks "gated" only to people like you who feel the need to have status symbols for free. My nooby bf could get the tag and act like he knew what he was doing. Whereas the mentor tag can be obtained with a few hours of mindlessly farming CoF. Also, no one had a problem with it before? Suddenly it's such an expense because you have a tag that easily handed to you? What is it with you guys and wanting everything for free? How is it pointless to show that you are proficient at the game by displaying your prowess with a gold gated symbol of your competence? If you got it for free where's the guarantee that you even know what you're doing? I understand it's easy to just buy gems and get the gold for the tag, but a lot of people are less likely to do that just to have a fancy symbol of responsibility. Lol they didn't spend 1200g in the tag, they spent 300g each. And we wished we could see the sword on the map. Someone once told the train to follow the blue flaming greatsword after the commander suddenly left, and it worked out just the same and nobody threw a fit. And if they occasionally overlap, like if someone uses a mentor tag instead of a commander tag to help people rally and keep the train together in Mad King's Labyrinth, it's completely irrelevant. They don't mean the same thing, and if people use them inappropriately or follow them inappropriately we should all just use common sense and not blow things out of proportion. ![]() I'm never sure if people are serious or it's just some sort of bias from it being free as opposed to 300g. Do we really need to split hairs?įorgive me but for the time being I'll take such criticism of the Mentor tag with a big grain of salt. The commander leads events, the mentor teaches. I'm not sure what the confusion is, for anybody who has a working knowledge of English. ![]() Latest patch Dev tracker Official sub DiscordĪnd it really blurs the line between Commanders and Mentors, to the detriment of both.
